We’re a Los Angeles based healthy cookie company delivering high quality, organic, vegan, melt in your mouth delisciousness. Our cookies contain no refined sugar, no wheat and no dairy, relying instead on organic agave, organic *spelt flour, and organic safflower oil. They will satisfy the most discerning sweet tooth without sacrificing health.

We're people who want to take care of our bodies but don’t want to eat cardboard to do it. People who appreciate the decadence and luxury of life, but don’t want the spike and fall in blood sugar levels, and are steering clear of wheat and dairy because we feel better when we do. Our cookies compete with the best cookies out there in terms of taste and variety. What differentiates us is the quality of the ingredients, the heath benefits, care in baking, packaging, and customer service. For those who are not considering health when enjoying cookies, we think you’ll love them too!

Ingredients

We use some of the following ingredients in each of our cookies. Most cookies have about six ingredients: Organic Spelt flour, Organic Agave, Organic Safflower Oil, Organic extracts (lemon, peppermint, orange, coconut, vanilla), Organic Cocoa, Organic Pecans, Organic Almonds, Organic Coconut, Organic Coconut oil, Organic Brown Rice Syrup, Aluminum free baking soda, Sea Salt, Organic Lemon rind, Organic Orange rind, Organic Oats, Organic Cinnamon, Organic Nutmeg, Organic Allspice, Grain-Sweetened Chocolate Chips (these are not available organic at this time. They are Vegan but are made on equipment shared with dairy, soy and nuts)

I have been obsessed with cookies since I was a little kid. My mom was amazing but not the cookie baking type. It was easier for her to pick up Pepperidge Farm. But I remember her making Toll House cookies one day and saying how much work it was…to me it just looked like bliss!

Fast-forward eight years later to a ballet career and the grips of an eating disorder that lasted fifteen years. Still my obsession with cookies prevailed whether eating them or depriving myself they were either a hypnotic treat or the equivalent of living in hell. When I gratefully made peace with food I would again make friends with cookies!

Flash forward again, recovered, oh so happily married with twins! Two little people who look to me to keep them safe, loved, and healthy. How could I feed them anything less than organic beautiful food with whole grains and no refined sugar. But I wanted them to eat something so yummy their lips would smack a smile. Cookies I thought! Hence Krissy’s Cookies was born. Many batches, blank looks and “Mummy that no good!” to eventually those lip smacking smiles! I can do this I thought! What total joy to put something so tasty and healthy into such sweet little bodies!

I have an absolute passion for health and fitness. I danced professionally for many years, and am also a certified Pilates, spinning and yoga instructor. I live this daily. I awake early to get my workout in before my day begins lovingly expanding Krissy’s Cookies. We have so much obesity and lack of real understanding of what healthy actually is. I want these cookies to be a tool for people to have when in need of something sweet. Mother’s milk is naturally sweet; we are born needing sweetness in our lives in many areas. We are innately sweet lovers. We just need the proper ingredients to feed our bodies and our hearts! I want the world to know what healthy feels like, looks like, and tastes like. Answer…Krissy’s Cookies! Hauntingly good, lovingly made, and healthy to the core! Please enjoy unabashedly!!

I first tasted Krissy’s Cookies at an engagement party for her sister in Los Angeles in 2007. I was walking back to the table with a Shortbread cookie in hand and took a bite. I stopped in my tracks, turned around and headed to find the creator to get the recipe. It was the best Shortbread cookie I’d ever had. Period. I found Krissy and only then discovered there was no refined sugar, dairy or wheat in these amazing cookies! Uh, sold! Okay, frankly, I was driven by the taste of the cookie. If they hadn't tasted so delicious, I wouldn't care how good they were for me.

My mother is a baker extraordinare so I'd grown up enjoying A LOT of amazing cookies, pies and cakes. But how does it get better than this? Delicious AND what my body loves! I was haunted by that Shortbread for a few days and inspired by Krissy’s passion and wanted to help bring them to life in any way I could. So we began to ask what that would look like. And one year later we're asking even more questions. Like, what does healthy look like, feel like, taste like? What would it take to find ingredients that work best in most bodies? Who is looking for us? What can a company do that functions from the joy of what it does? And what does the planet desire for and require of these cookies?
